Action for Children
What is Action for Children?
Action for Children is one of the UK’s leading children’s charities.
What does Action for Children believe?
That all vulnerable children and young people should have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
What makes Action for Children special to us?
It has been the children’s charity of the Methodist Church for 140 years, sharing the same values in terms of our commitment to social justice for children and families and the building of partnerships within the wider community.
John Wesley said, “Go not only to those who need you but to those who need you most”. Sadly the need now is as great as it ever was.
Social Workers who have come to Action for Children after working e.g. for a Local Authority, have told us how the Christian ethic makes a positive difference.
What does the Support Group do?
We raise the profile of the charity and raise funds. Our events include concerts, coffee mornings, demonstrations, barn dances, suppers, sponsored walks, market charity stalls, street and racecourse collections.
What does Action for Children do?
Action for Children supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people in the UK. See their website for further details.
Why should people give to Action for Children?
90p in every £1 spent, goes towards the work with children and their families, which is more than any other childcare charity.
